Atlanta Airport Launches Flights To Celebrate Black Panther Premier

in honor of Black Panther movie sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which dropped a few days ago, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta announced the return of direct flights to Wakanda. The unusual commute from the busy airport also honors that Black Panther The movie franchise was shot largely in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

Catch a flight from Atlanta to Wakanda

Hartsfield-Jackson Airport first announced direct flights to the fictional city in February 2018, when Marvel was much-anticipated. Black Panther It debuted on President’s Day this weekend. The airport announced via social media that it showed ATL Flight 1234 bound for Wakanda at 19:30 that day.

Today’s video is simple

Passengers immediately enjoyed the sense of humor at the time, given the great reviews of the film, with many claiming that they would pay with Vibranium – a fictional mineral found in Wakanda. The airport was joking again, saying that the direct flight accepts all coins and urging passengers to get their airline tickets before they run out quickly.

Also joining the humor at the airport and in homage to the film was one of the actors, Lupita Nyong’o, who responded to the airport’s social media account and asked about the options for in-flight entertainment. Of course, the inquiry was all in the context of the film, and Hartsfield-Jackson Airport happily responded to Nyong’o’s inquiries.

Return flights to Wakanda

What started as a funny and simple tweet appears to have turned into a rather serious issue as Hartsfield-Jackson Airport has taken to social media to announce the breaking news of the return of international flight services to Wakanda. The airport said in the statement:

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) announces the return to international service with direct flights to Wakanda. This direct service on Flight CHBZ will depart Maynard H. Jackson International from Gate F8 at 7:30 PM this evening.

Passengers reacted similarly to 2018, with many reacting immediately in the way they had already expected Hartsfield-Jackson Airport to make such an announcement and complied, claiming that they had already booked their flights and were ready to depart.

However, one notable difference between this year’s flight and 2018’s flight was the flight number; In 2018, it was ATL 1234. This year, the flight number is CHBZ, a direct tribute to the late film actor Chadwick Boseman, who played protagonist King T’Challa. Bosman and his character were an immediate favorite of the audience, but unfortunately, the actor passed away two years ago after a four-year battle with colon cancer.

minimum

Although the flights are certainly fake, it still gives us great pleasure to see Hartsfield-Jackson Airport with humor from time to time and a tribute to not only Atlanta and the Black Panther franchise but also the late Chadwick Boseman. Having the film crew and passengers also chime in was nice up front, especially in such tough times in the airline industry when a little humor can make anyone’s day.

Wakanda forever.
