Brian, Texas (KBTX) – With the Texas A&M soccer team hosting their third game in a row, businesses at Brian College Station are feeling the economic shock.
“We’ve seen such an increase in traffic that we’ve started to organize more in-store events,” said Blake Bowden of Aggieland Outfitters.
With a big name brand like Miami arriving in town this weekend to play Saturday Night, there’s an even bigger boost expected.
“It’s one of those toys that, as a retailer, we look forward to time and time again,” Bowden said.
This weekend and this month, companies are providing a sense of optimism, especially after two years of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s hard for everyone going back from these low points to get back to the high points,” said Jeremiah Cook of Visit College Station. “But I think we are all optimistic about what the fall brings.”
Added people means business added. Destination Brian hopes stores, convenience stores, and restaurants can take advantage of the added crowds.
“It’s just a really good opportunity for companies to get, not just some additional sales and revenue, but just getting their name out there in front of a completely different audience,” said Abigail Noel of Destination Bryan.
Kyle Field is busy during the month of September with three games, but in October there is only one home game for the Aggies, so Visit College Station and Destination Bryan are working hard to continue to have plenty of things to do when the games are over. town.
