British tourist, 32, sexually assaulted in taxi on Greek holiday by man she met in a bar


Rhode, Greece: A 32-year-old British woman was sexually assaulted by a man she met in a bar in Greece. She was assaulted in the back of a taxi. According to reports, the woman met the suspect at a bar in Lindos, Rhodes, and was attacked around 1.30am on Wednesday, September 21.

The man in the back seat attacked her as they left together and headed towards her hotel in Pefkos. The woman said the suspect put his hands on her shorts and inappropriately touched her in the horrific assault. She reported to the police from the Dodecanese 1st Directorate immediately before a medical officer examined her.

According to The Sun, the woman was on vacation in Rhode, Greece when this horrific incident occurred. Locals attacking tourists is not new because they make easy targets. The police are now looking for the taxi driver who witnessed the attack so that he can provide a statement of proof to verify the tourist’s version of events. Currently, a case has been filed against the unnamed attacker by the Rhodes Public Prosecutor’s Office.

And as recently as August, a similar incident occurred in Greece, when a 24-year-old British woman was raped. The 26-year-old offender was arrested in the Akti Fontsa region in the west of the country. The woman alleged that she was forced to engage in sexual acts near a bar in Belarus, and the perpetrator was charged with rape.

And in July, another similar incident occurred in which a British tourist was allegedly raped by a wealthy American vacationer on the popular Greek holiday island of Mykonos. The identity of the woman has not been revealed for legal reasons but she lived in Preston, Lancashire. She told the cops that the man was 30 and told her he usually lived in an upscale New York suburb. The victim told police the couple met at a store on the island before he took her to the hotel toilet where she was staying and raped her. In June, another British woman was attacked while vacationing in Crete and police accused the rapist of allowing the rapist to “roam free” after they wrongly accused her father of the attack.
