DHS Robotics Team Organizes Holiday Gift-Wrapping, STEM Demonstration

DUBLIN, CA — Two freshmen at Dublin High School raised $670 for their robotics team before Christmas through a STEM show and gift-wrapping fundraiser.

On December 23 and 24, Adi Jain, Saketh Parimi and their school’s robotics team set up shop outside of San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore, showcasing the basics of robot building, 3D printing, Snap circuits and an RGB Matrix board powered by a Raspberry Pi. Their demonstrations attracted more than 50 children. The team also wrapped up over 100 gifts, which raised $670 for their team.

The money will be used to build a robot for the FIRST Robotics competition, which will be held in March.

“It was a great learning experience from planning to executing the campaign with our team members,” said Uday and Sakth. “We only had 3 weeks to plan all the activities and learn how to wrap gifts amidst preparing for our final exams, but it was fun and engaging the whole time. We want to say thank you to SF Premium Outlets for giving us this opportunity. We hope to come back again with a bigger and better bot next time.” .
