Etsy to Run New Holiday TV Commercial and Is Redesigning Seller Handbook

Etsy to launch holiday TV ad and redesign seller brochure

Josh Silverman, CEO of Etsy, spoke to about 80,000 sellers during the company’s virtual event EtsyUp: Holiday Edition Thursday where he told attendees that he was working to level the playing field for sellers.

The EtsyUp event focused on providing sellers with tips and advice on how to prepare for the busy holiday shopping season and how to discover their stores.

Silverman told sellers that Etsy has prepared a new marketing campaign in the fall (which is expected to debut in November). “Throughout the holiday season, we’ll be running TV and marketing campaigns for brands so we’re paramount when buyers shop for their loved ones.”

Silverman also announced that the company is redesigning the Etsy Seller Guide, a portal to its community of spaces, events, upcoming feature opportunities, and a help center. “It’s important for you to be able to find what you need, when you need it,” he said. A new homepage will be launched in the coming weeks, and Etsy will roll out more updates in the coming months.

“In a world of e-commerce giants, it has never been difficult for small businesses to compete and stand out. This is where Etsy comes in. We work tirelessly to level the playing field for creative entrepreneurs like you,” he said.
