Cedric the Entertainer He recently revealed while appearing as a guest on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ about the reason why he finds it difficult to go on vacation with Steve Harvey.

The couple, who in the past worked together on several projects, are old friends and often consider themselves siblings. He said, “So I hang out with Steve a little bit. It’s only hard when you’re hanging out with Steve. Every question is a family feud question.” Cedric continued while impersonating Steve, “You can’t sit down to eating ‘Top Five Reasons’, you love Steve, no.”

Further in the conversation, Cedric shared another interesting challenge: Steve constantly changes his clothes. He said, “You know Steve be sharp. You get on the plane with Steve, you get ready to get off, and he changes his clothes.”

When I asked Jennifer if Steve had changed clothes on a flight, Cedric said, “I didn’t know you could change clothes on a flight…that’s another level of affluence. I wasn’t ready for that rich guy here.”

He added, “He was changing clothes mid-flight, and I was like, ‘Oh man, I’ve got some different shoes I can wear.'”

Towards the end of the interview, Cedric opened up about how he and Steve became good friends. The 58-year-old revealed that he met Steve after the club in Dallas, Texas, where he was due to perform, got a double booking. Cedric eventually performed in a skit at Steve’s Club. After his act, Cedric claimed that Steve gave him some money and made him a headliner the next time he hit the stage.

Steve recalled that historic moment in 2021, in his series “Rolling with Steve Harvey”. Steve shared about the event in 1989, when he was booking for a club called VooKoo Ray in Dallas, Texas.

He said, “In 1989 I had a little room I was booking in Dallas, Texas, called Vookoo Ray and I was booking all the work before you knew any of it. Jamie Foxx, Bernie Mac, Adele Givens, Bill Bellamy, Martin Lawrence. I had this guy perform. His name is Rex Garvin and he wasn’t doing it well but I was letting him work anyway.”

He added, “One of my friends, Percy Cruz, called me and said, ‘Hey man, this guy from St. Louis named Cedric the Entertainer was performing at the cross-town club The Fanny Bone; Cancel it. They overbooked, so they sent him home. You could come to your club and do five minutes for the test. I said: Yes, send it. “

Immediately after accepting Crowe’s offer, Steve met Cedric and included negotiations, in which he was scheduled to perform a 10-minute skit instead of five, before stepping onto the stage. A father-of-four said that after Cedric performed, he received a standing ovation, an act that occurred again the next night he gave.

He said, “I put Red on that stage for 10 minutes, and he got a warm welcome. So the next night, I paid him 50 bucks to stay. He did another 10 minutes but he did another 10 different. On the third night I said, ‘Man, so I stayed, I’ll give you $100…” He said, “Man, hell yeah.” So he stayed, and I paid him $100. We exchanged numbers. We became friends.

Steve concluded the story by saying that Cedric’s comedic talent was so good that he topped the show the following week and earned $1,000, making the comedian emotional. Steve claimed that from that day on, the couple remained friends and did not argue or get involved in an argument.
