Lake lights
Get in the holiday spirit by driving through two miles of classic display at Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool. Explore the vibrant lights, bright arcs, and themed shows, including the Land of Oz and the Fairytale Forest.
Tickets cannot be purchased at the gate, so purchase them in advance online. Admission is $10 Monday through Thursday and $20 Friday through Sunday for regular cars (16 people or less), $24 for minibuses and $75 for coaches. Lake Lights will be open from 5 to 10 p.m. through January 13, 2023.
Trees and Light Festival
Head to the Iverson Museum of Art for the 36th Annual Festival of Trees and Light. The museum will feature trees, wreaths, and seasonal items that can be purchased, as well as a host of events throughout the month of December, including a gift-making workshop and a “Santa Fe Residence.”
The Festival of Trees and Light will take place from December 3 to 17. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.
CNY Regional Holiday Market
Pick up a few last-minute essentials for your holiday feast at CNY’s regional holiday market. The market will host local produce vendors for patrons to purchase new items from as well as local holiday decorations and handmade items to gift loved ones.
The market will be held on Thursday, December 22nd from 7 am to 2 pm
Holiday nights at the zoo
Head to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo after hours to see a festive display of holiday lights in and around the zoo. The holiday event will be Friday and Saturday, December 2-17 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and offers warm fire pits, hot chocolate, s’mores, live holiday music, snow sculpting, and various entertainment, as well as various zoo animals in the park. Evening exhibitions.
Tickets available in advance and on the day, subject to availability. For advance tickets, entry costs for members are $7 and tickets for non-members are $8. Day tickets are $8 for members and $9 for non-members.
winter wonderland
The Cosmic Cauldron hosts a Winter Wonderland event featuring local businesses, craftspeople, and artists. The family friendly event will take place in the Syracuse Inner Harbor on Saturday, December 17th from 11am-4pm.
Holiday outfit swap and gaming engine
If you’re in a good mood this holiday season, stop by McCarthy Mercantile’s Cherry Pit to take part in dress-up swapping and driving games. Visitors are asked to think of warm winter clothes they haven’t worn in a while and would be willing to part with. Anyone who donates to the toy drive will be entered into a drawing to win a tote bag and a $100 gift card for Cherry Pit.
The clothing exchange will take place on Friday, December 9, from 4 pm to 7 pm
Decoration workshop
Learn how to design and create your own ornaments with Purcell’s Paint and Wallpaper. From 6pm to 8pm on December 8th, the organizers will teach participants how to pour acrylic paints to make their own glass ornaments.
