Flathead Lake Lodge Montana Dude Ranch Review With Photos

All foods were included, and as a foodie, it was one of the most important things to me.

A plate of meat, vegetables and vegetables.

My farm-to-table dinner plate.

Three hearty meals were served each day and everything I ate was made from scratch using seasonal and often local ingredients. I found the baked goods particularly delicious and chose to leave my diet at home.

During our stay, breakfast was a buffet with hot entrees such as pancakes or scrambled eggs, as well as a variety of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, muffins and scones.

Lunch was also served buffet style either outdoors at the picnic tables or in the dining room. I ate dishes like pasta and tacos accompanied by a salad bar and fresh baked goods for dessert, including my favorite, sugar cookies.

In the late afternoon, the daily happy hour serves snacks with cocktails, beer, and wine, all poured into the bar, which spills out onto a panoramic deck overlooking the lake.

For dinner we sat down to an indoor sit-down meal every night at 6:30pm. We filled grilled chicken, grilled fish, sausage and roast lamb with vegetables and potatoes. The homemade bread was warm from the oven, served with a bowl of flavored butter, and I think the night wine paired well with the enhanced dinner.

We ate this way every night except Wednesday, which is the weekly steak. On this night, we rode horses or drove in an old fire truck to a quiet spot in the woods where the staff grilled a steak for a chuck cart-style meal with live music.

My daughter is a vegetarian and her owner, Chase, suggested you go straight into the kitchen and let the staff know. They couldn’t be more accommodating, bringing her a veggie burger or any other meat dish every evening.

Some nights, our family would eat at our small table. Others, we sat at larger tables and mingled with the guests.

We also had access to a snack area with hot tea and coffee around the clock, granola bars, homemade pastries, and fresh fruit.

I’ve noticed that many families with kids and children ate lunch and dinner at a supervised buffet, which provided parents with an enjoyable dining experience.
