Brown refused to back down from Karim Hunt’s August trade order, but they are reportedly willing to deal with it now.
Here are the possible destinations for Hunt, who has 263 rushing yards and 87 yards receiving service primarily as a backup for Nick Chubb.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Bucs’ running game is a flop. Leonard Fournette has 362 fast yards in 103 attempts, 3.5 yards per carry. Third-round rookie Rashad White has 71 dash yards and one TD in 26 attempts. Ke’Shawn Vaughn, the only other player to return on the active roster, hasn’t played a game.
Tom Brady needs help for 3-4.
There is no clear RB1 in Denver, and Hunt has the potential to fill that role.
Jafonte Williams was one of the few bright spots in the Broncos’ disappointing attack before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 4. On Monday, Broncos RB put Mike Boone in injured reserve.
Also Monday, Denver claimed Marlon Mack of the 49ers coaching squad, adding to the disappointing tandem of Latavius Murray and Melvin Gordon.
Since joining the team in week six, Murray has a 93-yard dash and 23 landings. Having only had three buggies in Week 6, Gordon has had 11 yards for 33 yards against the Jets in Week 7. He has 234 yards in 66 attempts this season.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams were reportedly vying for Christian McCaffrey before he was dealt to the 49ers, so they are clearly looking for help.
Daryl Henderson was the Rams’ initial comeback, but there are questions about who’s coming next.
Malcolm Brown saw his first game of the season against the Panthers in Week 6. The team is making offers to Cam Akers, who is out of the Panthers game for personal reasons and available by trade.
McVeigh said the team is open to keeping Akers, but there could be a swap with Hunt with some additional compensation in the picture. The Rams are already weak on venture capital, but after James Robinson was traded to the Jets for a conditional sixth-round pick, they may not have to give up much.
Miles Sanders is eighth in the league in a sprint with 485 yards, but adding another weapon could go a long way as the undefeated Eagles look to go on the Super Bowl tour.
It wouldn’t be the first time the Eagles have earned a big middle back season, as they replaced Jay Ajayi in 2017 en route to winning the Super Bowl LII. Ajayi joined a panel of defenders that included Legrett Blount and Cory Clement.
Hunt would be a nice complement to Sanders and Kenneth Jenwell.
The NFL trading deadline is Tuesday, November 1 at 4 p.m. ET.
