Haryana: The country’s weather is changing rapidly due to western disturbances. Once again a cold wave alert has been issued in Haryana. In light of winter, the state government has extended the winter holidays for schools. The Haryana government has extended winter vacation in all schools (both government and private) in the state till January 21, 2023, due to the harshness of winter.

DPR Haryana said in a tweet that the Haryana government has extended winter holidays in all schools (both government and private) in the state till January 21, 2023, due to the severe winter. All schools will remain closed during the stated time period. From January 23, 2023, schools will open again. However, in view of the board examinations, the tenth and twelfth classes will be held from 10 am to 2 pm. Teachers who take extra lessons will get due leave in return according to the rules.

Earlier, the Haryana government declared a winter vacation till January 15, 2023. But in view of fears of a cold wave, the government decided to extend the winter vacation further. In this regard, the Directorate of Education has instructed all district education officials, district primary education officials, education cluster officials, primary education officers, and state school heads.

The Meteorological Department said several districts of Haryana and Punjab saw light rains with minimum temperatures approaching normal limits on Friday. Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, recorded a minimum temperature of 9.2°C. In Haryana, Narnaul recorded a low of 9.5°C, Karnal of 10.6°C, Rotak of 11.2°C and Ambala of 11.3°C, according to MeT.
