In a sign that the holiday isn’t too far off, Macy’s on State Street kicked off the season by lighting the Great Tree in the famous Walnut Room.
Standing 45 feet tall, the massive Christmas tree extends to the ceiling and has long been a distinctive part of the holiday season in Chicago.
If you plan to visit soon, you may notice that the scenery is different from years past. This year, the theme is a whimsical toy store. An old tradition at Macy’s, the famous holiday windows, are set up for visitors to see.
Santa also makes reservations at his own Santa Land during Christmas Eve.
