The Grande Prairie RCMP offers some helpful tips for homeowners planning a warmer winter vacation to help keep unwanted visitors off their property while they’re gone.
The Mounties suggest letting trusted neighbors know about your travel plans so they can keep an eye on your house while you’re away.
They also say you should have a friend or neighbor check in on your house occasionally, as well as have them sweep your driveway and driveway while you’re away.
Installing a security camera and sensor lights outside, or setting indoor and outdoor lights on timers, is another helpful tip for keeping intruders out.
