Schools To Remain Closed In Some Districts Of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan And Haryana, Check List


School closures due to the cold wave: Schools in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana will remain closed due to extremely cold conditions in northern India. As a result of the drop in temperature, many states like Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab have extended school holidays. Check out the list below for countries where holidays are extended:

Uttar Pradesh

In view of the severe cold snap, schools up to class 8 in Meerut will remain closed until January 17, District Magistrate Dipak Meena said on Sunday. Meanwhile, schools in Lucknow from grades 1 to 8 will operate from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, district administration officials said.

Gorakhpur District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh on Sunday ordered the closure of schools until January 17.
“In view of the cold, educational work in schools from LKG to Inter will remain closed on January 16 and 17. Schools where pre-board and practical exams are scheduled. These schools can hold preliminary and practical exams from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., DM said.

Haryana

The Government of Haryana has extended the winter holidays till 21st January 2023. Due to the drop in temperature, schools are closed for all classes, except for Class 10 and Class 12 students. These students are to continue their studies in view of the 2023 Board Examinations.

Rajasthan

Due to the cold wave, schools in Bikaner will now remain closed till 18th January 2023. Schools will remain closed to students of all classes.

Punjab

In view of the cold conditions prevailing in Punjab, the Chandigarh administration has extended winter holidays for students up to class 8. Schools will remain closed until January 21, 2023.

On Sunday, the Indian Meteorological Department predicted heavy to very dense fog likely in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.
