A reminder that a favorite holiday tradition in Everett, Washington returns on December 9th. The Helping Hands Holiday Bazaar will be held at Snohomish PUD on Friday, December 9 at the Headquarters Building at 2320 California Street east of downtown Everett. Here are more.
Snohomish County is hosting a Craft Bazaar at its headquarters in downtown Everett on Friday, December 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The location of The Holiday Bazaar, which raises money to help seniors with their bills, will be located. In the hallway and exchange lighting in a nearby meeting room.
PUD’s annual Helping Hands Holiday Bazaar took a brief hiatus due to COVID but is back in 2022. The bazaar features a large selection of handmade gifts and items from PUD employees and other community members, as well as food and other household items. The bazaar helps raise money for Helping Hands, which directly helps low-income seniors with their electric bills.
Helping Hands is an employee-funded and employee-managed program focused on helping low-income clients 65 and older with grants in their PUD bill. Helping Hands was started by PUD employees in 1987, handing out about $10,000 annually to clients.
In addition, PUD helps customers recycle old strands from holiday lights. Customers can bring in vintage lights or donate food to local food banks to PUD in exchange for up to three strands of holiday lights per person, while supplies last.
