Disney has released information regarding the holiday shows that will be in place during this festive period, and while there’s plenty to smile about, many Disney fans may be disappointed to hear that Cinderella Castle Dream Lights won’t be back this year.
This news will not be a surprise to many due to the fact that last year the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights did not take place at the beginning of the 50th anniversary due to the decorations already in the Cinderella Castle for this celebration. The third season in which this popular show hasn’t been part of the holiday shows and it seems less and less likely that it will return next year as well.
The lighting of Cinderella’s castle to give the illusion that it is covered in snow and icicles was truly a sight to behold and a highlight for many Disney fans in previous years.
This year, Cinderella’s Castle will be lit up with projections that will spin with the Beacon of Magic projections for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas party. There will be a full range of seasonal décor all over Main Street USA and a selection of desserts will be available for a limited time at select locations.
At EPCOT, AdventHealth’s EPCOT International Holiday Festival kicks off November 25, where holiday kitchens will delight guests with seasonal flavours. The candlelight parade returns from November 25 to December 30, and there will be a Guardians of the Galaxy holiday cover and shows across the World Showcase to celebrate the festive season.
Guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios can enjoy seeing Santa Claus Motorcade and, for the first time, Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration. There will be great holiday decor throughout the park and special features at Toy Story Land. The Hollywood Tower of Terror will have nightly projections alternating with the Beacon of Magic and Minnie will appear in Minnie’s Holiday Dine and Holywood & Vine.
Finally, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the Tree of Life will sparkle and sparkle every evening with festive cheer. Guests can enjoy seeing Santa Claus’ festive fleet sailing down the Discovery River as well as Discovery Island Drummers. You will bring to life Discovery Island in the Merry Menagerie featuring dolls of arctic animals including reindeer, polar bears, penguins and foxes.
