Anyone seen Taika Waititi Thor: Love and Thunder This summer knows that beyond Mr. Odinson and Peter Quill-Avengers: Endgame The mission did not go the way some had hoped. Star-Lord, mourning Gamora’s death, could have used some TLC while bouncing back with his found family, Guardians of the Galaxy. But with an existential bull, nothing would be so easy. And in this new deleted scene from the next love and thunder Blu-ray, which premieres exclusively on Polygon, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have a clearer idea of how Quill will develop eye twitching as it heads toward 2023. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
In the scene, which you can watch above, Quill begs Thor for help on a planet that was meant to be a destination for relaxation. It turned out to be an all-out war. Waititi got enough distance in stepping up this scene for actionable battle effects to appear in every direction, but you have an incomplete Korg stuttering in the background. And if the scene had actually made it to the movie, it would have been more of the darkest comic parts in MCU history — yes, there are guts in that minute-long scene.
While Thor: Love and Thunder Disney Plus hits Thursday (with a digital release set for September 8), Blu-ray promises deleted scenes and other exclusive additions. The disc hits shelves on September 27th.
