Vacation like a Hobbit — ‘The Lord of the Rings’ original Shire set is on Airbnb

Fans of “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” will be in for a treat next year when an actual set of the films is offered as a place for a short-term getaway.

A few lucky guests will be able to stay at “The One-and-Only Hobbiton,” the famous Shire set featured in the famous trilogies. Not only will guests be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Waikato, New Zealand, it will only cost them $6 a night.

That is if they are fast enough to be able to book.

“For the first time ever, guests are invited to stay in the original Hobbiton Movie Set, as featured in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies, and experience all the magic Middle-earth has to offer,” Airbnb says.
