Volunteers help pack boxes for Operation Holiday

Wichita, Kan. (KWCH) – vacation process It is just one of several nonprofits seeing increased needs this year. Through HumanKind Services, the program helps anywhere from 12,000 to 15,000 individuals during the holiday season.

While the application process is closed, volunteers are still needed to assist with the distribution process later this month.

On Thursday, members of the Scooters Coffee team volunteered to help fold boxes, objects, and boxes of tape at the Humankind Ministries warehouse in East Wichita.

Some of the volunteers said they had come to serve the community while others said they had received services from the program and wanted to return the favor.

“I used to come and get some of these things knowing they really help and I want to be able to help more families,” said one volunteer.

HumanKind said the volunteer opportunities benefit the community as a whole. The goal is to ensure that everyone in Wichita and Sedgwick County has everything to get through the winter.
